What to put on your About page.

Help people get to know you

A customer reading your About page is often deciding whether to get in touch. Tell them who’s behind the business, what experience you bring and the work you do most often.

Use details you can stand behind

Your service area, how you got started and a specific example of your work say more than a claim to be “industry-leading”. If you include a result or statistic, make sure you can support it. Qualifications are useful when you explain why they matter to the customer.

Show the people doing the work

A genuine team photo and a few words about each person can make the business feel familiar. You don’t need a long life story. Start with the things you’d naturally tell someone meeting you for the first time.

Make it easy to take the next step

Once someone has read about you, give them a clear way to explore your services or contact you. Read the page aloud before publishing. If you wouldn’t say a sentence to a customer, try saying it more simply.
